Bridal Shower (2004)

Synopsis

This is the story of three friends, Sonia, Tates and Katie, who all work in an advertising agency.

The film follows the three women’s search for happiness as they moved around the crazy world of advertising and as they confront the most important issues of their lives: sex, love and marriage.

Sonia (Francis Prieto) has two lovers – a struggling painter whom she loves and a well-to-do rich kid who provides her the prospect of a secure future. When she gets pregnant, she is compelled to choose between the two.

Tates (Dina Bonnevie) story revolves around the issues of annulment and the social pressures put upon the modern Filipina regarding marriage and raising a family.

Plum Katie (Cherry Pie Picache) is smitten by a good-hearted male stripper she meets during Sonia’s bridal shower. In trying to bridge their social gap, she jeopardizes what might be the greatest love of her life.

A hilarious film that laughs and cries at the foibles of love, sex and marriage while at the same time exploring the undeniable link of economics and relationships. This new film has the making of modern classic.
